Hi Joao,
It looks like your message only went to me but not to the gimp-web list.
Note that if you are not already subscribed to the list, your message

The direct link to Windows binaries has been requested by many users.
If you go and check
http://next.gimp.org/, you will see a nice Download
button on the home page, which will allow you to get the files that you
need for your platform. You still need more than one click to get the
binaries (we have no control over the Sourceforge download page), but
at least this should be much easier than what we had for the old site.
But you raise another interesting point: some GIMP users have a very
limited understanding of English. The current web site is not easy to
navigate for those users. I don't think that we are ready to translate
the site in multiple languages (like the user manual) for two reasons:
- The current build system for the web site is not suitable for
providing pages in multiple languages. We would have to switch to a
different system before we can think about supporting more than one
language.
- We already have enough problems supporting the English version of
the web site. This can be partially blamed on the build system that
very few contributors understand fully. But we simply do not have
enough volunteers for maintaining the web site.
So for the moment, we have to live with only one language for the web
site. But in some cases, adding icons or using simple words for the
links can help the non-English speakers.
I think that the new Download button (with a download icon) will help
the users who have a limited understanding of English. But if you see
other things in the web site that could easily be improved with the
addition of small icons or with some simplification of the text or
links, please report them and suggest some improvements.
