Not exactly the same (it only has one POWER processing element, along
with 8 SPE's). The SPE's are SIMD RISC chips (similar to in-built
functionality in Intel-based CPU's for SSE, AMD-Now! and MMX though it's
way more floating-point heavy) and allows for massively parallel
applications. It's no great multipurpose machine, but hey, if you're in
the number crunching arena (graphics, weather simulations, etc) - you'd
like this chip hehehehe :D
