I've checked. A Wavecom gsm modem (P17thou) can handle around 6 msgs/min
(conservative est., according to the distributor). This is too slow for
handling say 5 million txt msgs within 24 to 48 hours.
I currently use an ordinary nokia 6210, which can also handle 6 msgs/min
though it hangs occasionally under high load (esp. collissions between
incoming and outgoing sms.)
We'd need more than a hundred of these ...
