Here is my problem. I feed some atom/rss content to a page and
use the GUID that the feed generates as a fragment identifier
in an anchor by using this in in an ahcor in the template file
#__guid__
Now if the feed uses a URL as the guid then you get effective URL's like
this
http://axelrod.plus.com/sftp/ppfiles/ppcoolfeeds.shtml#http://
www.velorution.biz/?p=1237
Is this legal ? it works fine with all browsers I tried but doesn't
work with tinyURL. When I generate a tinyURL to post in an email
it works for a few minutes then fails - I suspect tinyURL fails to
store it properly.
So my questions are about whether this is legal in a URL and whether or
not that is true, how can I encode the guid at the point of generation
(i.e. in the item template code) so as to generate unique fragment ID's
that WILL work with tinyURL.
Cheers
andy
