Here's one way to specify proxy in SOAP::Lite:

$ENV{HTTP_proxy} = "http://proxy.my.com:3128/";

It should work on Net::Google because it uses SOAP::Lite.

Let us know if it didn't work.

For more information about how to specify http proxy in SOAP::Lite see
this link[1].
