Bluetooth allows a wireless connection between your phone and
notebook/PDA. It's not a cellphone technology per se.
Bluetooth uses the same frequency (ISM) as WiFi (wireless Ethernet) but
the range is only 10 meters. Bluetooth is essentially "dead" (WiFi killed
it..) but still surviving in phones because the chip consumes much less
power -- the Harris/Intersil PRISM2 chipset used in WiFi adapters consumes
too much power to put in a mobile device.
